D&L Medical achieve SAFEcontractor accreditation |

D&L Medical is one of the latest group of successful companies to join a leading edge scheme, designed to help the construction industry improve its safety record.
Accreditation to the SAFEcontractor scheme is only possible when a company can demonstrate compliance to a programme that requires very high standards in Health & Safety practice.
Les Hood, MD of D&L Medical said: “I am delighted to have achieved SAFEcontractor accreditation as it demonstrates to our existing and potential clients that we have a positive and demonstrable commitment to the Health & Safety of not only our own employees but also to the clients on whose sites we work”
SAFEcontractor accreditation is expected to enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts and our commitment to safety will be viewed positively by our insurers when our various professional insurances are up for renewal.
SAFEcontractor is operated by the international safety, health and environmental risk management specialists, the National Britannia Group. The system is applicable to most sectors although it is particularly relevant to users of contract services such as, in D&L Medical’s case, the maintenance and installation of medical gas pipeline systems and the provision of appropriate professional services associated with these.
James Ostler, Managing Director of Information Service at National Britannia has gone on record as stating that “Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound Health & Safety policies.”
“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that D&L Medical has done. The firms’ high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector”.
